Evelyn Politzer
Evelyn Politzer, originally from Uruguay, now lives and works in Miami, Florida. After attending law school in Montevideo, Uruguay and moving to the United States, she graduated with her MFA in Visual Arts in 2021. Evelyn is a 2020 recipient of the Ellies Creator Award from Oolite Arts Organization. Working with wool was only natural in her native country, where the number of sheep far exceeds the number of inhabitants. In addition to the beauty, fragility, and interconnection of the natural environment; womanhood and motherhood are recurring concepts of her work. Solo exhibitions include “Felt Dreamscapes” at Ft Lauderdale
Airport; “Nature and History” at the Hidden Garden, Pinecrest Gardens; “Tree Huggers and Nests. The art of Evelyn Politzer” at Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Selected 2026 group exhibitions include “Deering Contemporary 2026” at Deering Estate; “Painters and Sculptures making Jewelry” at Bernice Steinbaum Gallery; and “What’s in your Container” with DVCAI at Barry University. Working in fiber art allows Politzer to foster community, bringing people together as a co-founder of FAMA- Fiber Artists-Miami Association with the mission to educate and advance contemporary textiles and fiber arts.
