Amy Gelb

Amy Gelb born in New York City, NY in 1969 lives and works in Miami, FL. She received her BFA in Acting in 1991 from Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. She earned an MSW in Clinical Social Work from NYU in 1994. She focuses on impacting real women and giving voice to underrepresented victims of violence. Gelb incorporates photography, fiber, textiles, and installation. Her recent solo, “Intimate Territory,” curated by Rina Gitlin was at The Epic Kimpton Hotel Artist in Residence, Miami ( 2023). “Becomes Us,” a three-person exhibition including Laura Marsh and Laura Villarreal, debuted at Collective 62 (2024).

She has exhibited artwork in local, national, and international venues including MoCa in Westport CT, The Jewish Museum in Milwaukee, Design District Miami, The Frank Gallery in Pembroke Pines, The Camp Gallery in Miami, The Coral Gables Museum, The Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado, PhotoPlace Gallery in Vermont, Houston Center for Photography in Houston Texas, The Chateau de LaLande and Châ teau de Lomé nie in France, and The Melkweg Gallery in Amsterdam. Gelb is a current Locust Projects WaveMaker grant recipient for, “Stitched With You” (2024), as well the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Miami-Dade Individual Artists (MIA) Grant (2024). She is and a resident artist at The Collective 62, Miami.
